Description
The Front Desk Person will create and maintain a cheerful, professional, and helpful environment while servicing our community. The Front Desk Person will be consistent in following all building, program procedures, and guidelines.
The Front Desk Person should posses these qualities: enthusiasm, helpfulness, friendliness, dependability, and professionalism. Must be able to get along with various types of people. You will be responsible for handling emergencies and securing the facility when there is no full-time staff on duty.
Examples of Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Arrive at least 15 minutes before scheduled time
  • Greet each person and call him or her by name when servicing his or her needs.
  • Answer phones using courteous telephone manners and customer service skills. "Faribault Parks and Recreation, this is _________, may I help you"! Answer questions truthfully including, "I don't know the answer but I will leave a message for ____________ to get a hold of you.
  • Be sure the front desk area is clean and safe at all times.
  • Know the emergency procedures and respond promptly to any emergency situation.
  • Should an emergency arise, call supervisor and/or 911 and assist with aid to the best of your ability.
  • Keep updated on current programs and special events using the bulletin and the information manual as resource tools.
  • Be dressed and groomed in a clean and neat manner following the dress code policy established.
  • Responsible for evening cleaning duties.
  • Check the locker rooms every ยฝ hour to make sure they are clean.
  • Report any missing, broken equipment, or locker room issues to the supervisor.
  • Perform light cleaning duties at the front desk.
  • In the event of a sanitary accident, the front desk person will be required to assist with the clean up.
  • Work a variety of hours between 8:00 am and 11:00 pm.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
  • Must be a minimum 16 years of age.
  • Must be a responsible individual who can calmly assist to emergency situations in a thorough, professional manner.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in indoor conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the office, and moderately loud when in the program setting.
