Job description

Job Overview
Ebenezer is looking for a RN Educator - Registered Nurse to join our senior living team at the Ebenezer Corporate office in Edina, MN! This position provides training and education to a variety of audiences, including but not limited to, employees, clients, family and the general public. In addition, this position provides supervision and skills verification for the licensed and unlicensed nursing staff.
This RN educator position includes;
  • On Call/Casual
  • Day shifts available
  • To maintain Casual status, employees must be willing to be available to work a minimum of three (3) shifts per month (two shifts must be weekend shifts) and one (1) Holiday shift per year. The weekend starts with the beginning of the night shift on Friday and ends with the beginning of the night shift on Sunday.

Responsibilities:
  • Presents educational topics related to the health care industry in large and small group settings
  • Serves as subject matter expert in various areas of health care and education
  • Presents a variety of nursing topics at New Employee Orientation
  • Acts as an Ebenezer representative for education and/or public speaking at Ebenezer sites
  • Speaks at general public events upon request
  • Demonstrates and teaches skills
  • Teaches/demonstrates a variety of nursing department skills
  • Verifies learners competence of professional and/or paraprofessional skills
  • Works with site leaders to bring ongoing education to the site level in group or 1:1 settings
  • May provide supervisory activities for licensed and unlicensed staff
  • Provides onsite supervision of nursing team members upon request of site leadership
  • Makes appropriate recommendations for additional staff learning opportunities
  • Acts in the role of educator to bring employee skill level to desired competence
  • Participates in research and development of presentations reflective of regulatory compliance and best practice
  • Participates in special projects as assigned
  • Provides regular input on presentations to ensure best practice

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate of Science Vocational/Technical Training or Associate Degree - Nursing
  • None to 1 Year of previous experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Registered Nurse RN Licensure/Registered with the MN Board of Nursing
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Provider from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross; accepted certifications as follows -AHA: BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program or BLS Provider - BLS Instructor. American Red Cross: CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and/or Healthcare Providers, Life Guarding First Aid/CPR/AED

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science Nursing
  • One to Three Years
  • Proficient in Eldermark Computer Documentation Software
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Prior experience in home care or assisted living environment
