Description:

Tire Technicians are required to inspect and assess damaged or worn tires on customer vehicles, replace or repair damaged tires, and balance or rotate tires. This position requires effective communication skills and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks while providing great customer service.

Duties Include:

  • Understand and show empathy towards customer’s tire issues.
  • Mount/dismount, install new or used tires.
  • Inspect and assess tire tread levels, wear patterns, valve quality and overall health of the tire.
  • Check air pressure, repair punctures and replace faulty valves.
  • Operate balancer and complete wheel alignments.
  • Complete tire rotations; reset TPMS when needed.
  • Complete brake inspections.
  • Complete work orders and related paperwork.
  • Load/unload and store equipment as needed.
  • Maintain, set up tire racks, organize, and clean shop and equipment.
  • Assist customers and other co-workers as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:

Tire Technician Requirements:

  • Must perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner.
  • Ability to consistently follow store policies and procedures.
  • Ability to read and complete instructions.
  • Must have general mechanical skills.
  • Position requires continuous standing, bending, lifting and ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced customer service-oriented environment.
  • Team-Player: Works well as a member of a group.
  • Detail Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Authorized to work in the USA and at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving history.
  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Commitment to service beyond the expectations of our customers.
  • Able to perform physically demanding tasks.

Physical Demands / Work Environment: 

  • Lifting: Frequent lifting over 50 pounds from ground to chest high. 
  • Occasional squatting, bending, and twisting. 
  • Standing for extended periods of time.
  • Environment: Work in an environment that is not climate controlled. Temperatures range from extremely hot to extremely cold, depending on the season.
  • Vision (Near, distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth Perception).
  • Sense of sound (Ringing telephones, alarms, horns, and motorized equipment).
  • PPE: Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Safety Glasses, gloves, footwear).
