Job description

Assistant Mounted Tire Manager
JOB TYPE: Full Time
POSITION SUMMARY
McCarthy Tire Service is looking for an Assistant Mounted Tire Manager to support the daily operation of our mounted tire department. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for helping supervise technicians, coordinate workflow, maintain quality and safety standards, and support the Mounted Tire Manager.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist the Mounted Tire Manager with daily department operations.
  • Supervise, train, and support mounted tire technicians.
  • Assign and coordinate daily work to ensure customer orders are completed accurately and on time.
  • Monitor the quality of tire mounting, balancing, wheel servicing, and related work.
  • Assist technicians with difficult jobs, troubleshooting, and equipment operation.
  • Perform mounted tire technician duties as needed, including mounting, dismounting, balancing, and wheel servicing.
  • Ensure proper use, maintenance, and safe operation of department equipment.
  • Assist with inventory, receiving, loading/unloading freight, and order fulfillment.
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized department.
  • Assist with employee scheduling, timekeeping, payroll review, and training.
  • Help address employee and customer concerns and escalate issues to the Manager when appropriate.
  • Communicate with billing, sales, and other departments to ensure orders and paperwork are completed accurately.
  • Assist with maintaining department productivity and quality goals.
  • Serve as acting Mounted Tire Manager in the Manager's absence, as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous commercial or heavy-duty tire experience required.
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or lead technician experience preferred.
  • TIA certification is a plus.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong knowledge of tire mounting, balancing, wheels, and related equipment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to complete work orders and documentation.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.
  • Ability to lift and/or move tires weighing 30-250 lbs. with mechanical assistance.
  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
