Highlights:

Summary: The Manager, Stroke Program (RN) shall be responsible to develop and implement a strategic plan for the Stroke Program. The Manager is responsible to develop, monitor, and evaluate quality management activities related to the Stroke Program and in accordance with the American Stroke Association and Brain Attack Coalition Clinical Guidelines established for the program. The Manager will develop goals and objectives and implement processes to achieve and maintain Joint Commission Accreditation for the Stroke Program. Additionally, the Manager will develop and implement department-wide policies and procedures related to stroke care and Stroke Certification. This individual will work collaboratively with all hospital and clinic personnel on performance improvement projects, staff and community education, and marketing. The Manager will work externally with all constituents for a multi-disciplinary community wide approach for the treatment of stroke. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Nursing required, Master's degree preferred. At least 2-5 years' experience in neuroscience nursing or related healthcare field involving neuroscience (e.g. rehab therapy, emergency or critical care nursing, and research coordinator) required. Preferred experience as Stroke Coordinator.

License/Certification:

Active RN licensure required, BLS required, Stroke Certified Registered Nurse (SCRN) preferred, Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN) preferred, Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, NIHSS, etc.) may be required depending upon area assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software.

  • Strong team leadership skills, strong organization, interpersonal, and customer relations skills.

  • Must be able to meet strict deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, and excellent organizational skills.

  • Must be able to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to remain calm in difficult situations.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, proficient computer skills, proven track record of successful performance.

  • Ability to understand complex multifactor situations and bring appropriate solutions.

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

  • Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.

  • Ability to observe, assesses, and record work, safety and infection control standards.
