Job description

Role Summary
Free People is looking for a Sample Coordinator to join the team who will be responsible for maintaining photo samples for
the direct and catalog channels. This person will know the whereabouts of all samples using company programs and self-knowledge. They will coordinate the flow of samples from buying teams to the studio, style outs, and photoshoots. They will manage and organize by category, marketing needs, and trend capsules to support weekly business strategies. The coordinator will need to work closely with the other sample coordinators, copywriters, buyers, merchandisers, marketing and studio teams acting with a sense of urgency to maximize business.
Role Responsibilities
  • Checking in and logging samples using the company's system product tracking
    system, STEP.
  • Pulling multiple weekly and monthly reports in support of merchandising team in
    sample management and tracking.
  • Maintaining tracking system for sample whereabouts.
  • Responsible for all sample orders including returning samples back to the DC
    and maintaining a monthly recap report.
  • Maintaining and organizing samples in an orderly fashion to bring over to studio
    every week.
  • Preparing and tagging all samples for web and catalog photo shoots including
    styling call outs and additional relevant information.
  • Overseeing product for weekly turn meetings and working closely with studio
    sample coordinators on marketing projects.
  • Working closely with studio and buying to maintain sample organization and
    return completed samples back to buyers for archiving or vendor return.
  • Preparing samples for weekly homepages/marketing & style outs.
  • Preparing outdated samples for sample sale by packing boxes and labeling by
    class.
  • Building strong relationships with buying and studio teams.
  • Sharing creative ideas through monthly inspiration meetings.

  • Bachelors Degree in Fashion, Business or a related field required
  • Retail experience preferred
