Behavioral Health / 6 South (Geriatric), 3 South (Adult) – Behavioral Health Therapist

Come to Baxter Health and join the mental health team.  We have the privilege of being able to provide excellent care to patients during acute mental health crisis.  We enjoy our jobs and love to have fun.  We are professional, respectful, always working toward uplifting each other, and ensuring we do our very best every day.  Our Adult Behavioral Health is a 16-bed unit for patients age 18 and above, while our Geriatric Behavioral Health is a 19-bed unit for patients age 55 and above.  Having both behavioral units, we are able to place patients on the most appropriate unit based on each individual’s need and primary diagnosis of mental illness requiring acute inpatient treatment.  Patients are required to attend individual and group psychotherapy, activity therapy, and daily visits with providers.  Our behavioral unit teams are actively engaged with each patient, building relationships and providing education to each patient throughout the shift.  If behavioral health is your passion, we are the unit for you!

Behavioral Health Therapist - Responsibilities:

• Provide quality and organized psychotherapy and social services for identified clients and families, with special emphasis on treatment and discharge planning needs.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of all relevant regulations and standards regarding the provision of social services and implementation of treatment and discharge planning.
• Assure the collection and evaluation of social services and discharge planning data according to organization policy, demonstrates professional behavior, and supports philosophy of Baxter Regional Medical Center.

Behavioral Health Therapist - Job Requirements: 

Education: Master of Social Work from an accredited school of social work or related master’s degree program (i.e., counseling, etc.) required 

Licensure:  Current Arkansas Social Work license (LCSW/LMSW) in good standing or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) required

Experience: Two to three years of clinical experience with older persons, and hospital or nursing home experience preferred.

Certifications: BLS required

Other: Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.  Basic computer knowledge required.

• This position is deemed safety sensitive in accordance with Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana.
