School Social Worker - School-Based (In-Person)
Compensation:
Hourly Rate: $50.00 - $53.00 per hour
Location: Plymouth/Canton, MI (Primary need in Plymouth, MI)
Onsite - In Person Only
Position Summary
RCM Health Care Services is seeking a full-time School Social Worker to provide in-person services to middle school students in the Plymouth, MI area for the 2026-2027 school year. This role focuses on supporting students' social-emotional development, conducting assessments, and implementing intervention strategies within a collaborative school setting. Candidates must have experience developing Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) and be available for immediate interviews.
Responsibilities
Schedule / Shift
  • Full-time
  • School-year schedule aligned with academic calendar
  • Middle school setting
  • Immediate start

Key Duties:
  • Conduct assessments using school records, interviews, and observations to determine student needs
  • Develop and implement FBAs and BIPs
  • Support students with IEPs and social-emotional learning interventions
  • Communicate diagnostic findings and intervention strategies to families, staff, and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to develop student programs and services
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring
  • Foster relationships between school, home, and community

Requirements
Education
  • Required: Master's degree in Social Work

Licenses & Certifications
  • Required: Valid Michigan Social Worker License
  • Required: Approval (or eligibility) as a School Social Worker in Michigan

Additional Requirements
  • Experience writing FBAs and BIPs (required)
  • Knowledge of IEP processes and special education services
  • Understanding of child development, learning theory, and social-emotional needs
  • Experience with MTSS and intervention-based practices
