Job description

Senior Product Manager

Position Summary

As a Homecare Homebase Senior Product Manager on the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Platform, you'll help modernize and elevate how post-acute providers (Home Health, Hospice, and Personal Care/EVV) get paid-accurately, quickly, and compliantly. You'll own the strategy and execution for platform capabilities that power revenue cycle and collections workflows, payer/clearinghouse connectivity, and partner integrations-while pushing forward modern tooling (APIs, automation, AI/ML-enabled experiences, and scalable platform architecture).

You'll operate at the intersection of customer needs, business outcomes, and technical delivery. You'll spend time with customers and internal teams to understand real revenue cycle pain points, translate them into a prioritized roadmap, and work closely with engineering to deliver reliable, secure, and measurable improvements. A technical product mindset is essential; prior engineering experience is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities

RCM Platform Strategy & Outcomes

  • Own and evangelize the product strategy and roadmap for HCHB's RCM Platform, aligned to business goals (cash acceleration, reduced denials, lower DSO, higher first-pass resolution, improved user productivity).
  • Drive modernization of the RCM platform through modular services, API-first design, partner tooling, automation, and AI-assisted workflows.
  • Define and monitor success metrics (e.g., claim acceptance rates, denial rates, remittance posting accuracy, throughput, cycle times, user adoption, NPS/CSAT for RCM workflows).

Deep Post-Acute & Revenue Cycle Expertise

  • Lead discovery and solutioning for end-to-end revenue workflows: charge capture, claims creation/submission, edits/scrubbing, payer rules, eligibility/benefits, prior auth support, remittance (835) and ERA posting, denials/appeals, patient responsibility, collections, reconciliation, and audit readiness.
  • Apply domain knowledge in post-acute EHR/operations (Home Health, Hospice, Personal Care/EVV) and how clinical documentation, visit verification, and compliance requirements impact billing and reimbursement.

Technical Product Leadership

  • Partner with engineering and architecture to define platform capabilities, integration patterns, and technical guardrails (security, performance, observability, scalability).
  • Lead API and integration strategy across internal services and external ecosystems (clearinghouses, payers, eligibility services, payment partners, document management, analytics).
  • Translate customer and business requirements into clear product requirements: PRDs, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and phased delivery plans.
  • Execute tactical planning, backlog prioritization, and release readiness.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Evangelism

  • Collaborate with UX to design modern, intuitive RCM experiences (user journeys, prototypes, usability validation) that reduce complexity for billing teams.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Implementation, Support, Customer Success, and Client Advisory Groups to ensure adoption, training, and measurable value realization.
  • Communicate roadmap, progress, tradeoffs, and outcomes clearly to executives and stakeholders; support go-to-market and enablement for new platform capabilities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience in B2B software, with significant ownership of complex platforms or workflow-heavy products.
  • Demonstrated experience in healthcare revenue cycle (preferably software-side), including claims/clearinghouse/payer integrations and revenue operations.
  • Strong technical product management capability: API-first thinking, integration design, ability to collaborate deeply with engineers and understand system constraints/tradeoffs.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence without authority, and ship outcomes in ambiguous problem spaces.
  • Excellent customer-facing skills-able to run discovery, synthesize insights, and translate into product decisions.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication; strong stakeholder management.
  • Ability to travel to customers and company sites (~25%).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Senior product experience in post-acute (Home Health, Hospice, Personal Care/EVV), ideally within an EHR ecosystem.
  • Direct experience with healthcare transaction standards and interoperability relevant to RCM and adjacent workflows, such as X12/EDI (837/835/270/271), HL7, and familiarity with FHIR where applicable.
  • Experience modernizing legacy platforms (migration strategies, incremental refactors, deprecation plans, platform governance).
  • Familiarity with AI/automation opportunities in RCM (worklist prioritization, denial prediction, anomaly detection, document classification, assisted posting/coding support), including responsible data/security considerations.
  • Strong integration/partner ecosystem background (vendor selection, contract/roadmap alignment, joint delivery).
  • Prior experience as a software engineer or in a highly technical role
