Instructor, Medical Coding

Teaches a full range of skills and knowledge for the certificate program in medical coding. Prepares students to pass the CPC examination. Essential functions include presenting facilitative, well prepared, organized, and clear lectures and classroom activities consistent with the course syllabus and school policies, promoting students' development and effective use of skills in areas such as critical and analytical thinking, evaluation, communication, professionalism, customer service, computation, problem solving, and decision-making, instructing through remote and in-person delivery, providing timely information and feedback on academic progress, maintaining accurate records of student academic and attendance performance, possessing a thorough knowledge and understanding of all college policies, following all retention policies of the college to ensure student attendance, and performing other duties as assigned.

  • Must be a Certified Professional Coder Instructor (CPC-I) with the AAPC

The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment; the work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated; typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.; work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite.

Set-Rate Non-Bargaining Part-Time Position: This is a Part-Time Non-Bargaining Unit Position, with the following Set Rate of Pay: $30.00/hour.

If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1 Recruitment and Selection Procedure.
