Description:

Starting Salary: $51-63K

Department: Clinical Trauma

Hybrid schedule - 4 days from home, 1 day in office each week. Must be local to Cincinnati.


About: Analyzing, implementing and maintaining computer-based systems for the department/division and supporting organization-wide systems. Utilize technical knowledge to provide on-going support. Assigns appropriate medical codes to the data based on standardized coding systems such as ICD (International Classification of Diseases) and AIS (Abbreviated Injury Scale). Accurate coding is crucial for data consistency and analysis.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage Customer/Vendor Relationships
Build and maintain positive relationships.
Analysis
Respond to system related requests from the department/division. Maintain issues log and troubleshooting guide. Document issue resolution. Work with department/division to understand reporting needs. Prepare statistical summaries and reports. Develop reports through efficient use of various tools available. Run reports as needed by the department/division. May maintain department/division web site.
Technical Support
Serve as liaison between the department and Information Services. Participate in the execution of test scripts to validate systems implementations and modifications. May maintain system data and tables.
Design and Development
Support technical solutions that will increase the efficiency of the department/division. Understand the downstream impact of changes in technology. Assist in the preparation of user documentation for department/division systems, including training manuals. Assist with and conduct training as needed.
Process Improvement
Document business processes. Improve efficiency of department/division processes and software.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Technology OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred:
  • 1+ years Medical Coding (ICD-10) Experience
  • AIS Coding Experience
  • Trauma Registry Experience
