Job description

Per Diem Home Health Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT)
Activa Home Health is hiring Per Diem Respiratory Therapists (RRT/CRT) for multiple locations throughout the Treasure Coast.
Clinicians are assigned to a territory based on their home location:
  • North: Sebastian, Vero Beach, and Fort Pierce
  • South: Port St. Lucie, Jensen Beach, Stuart, Palm City, and Hobe Sound
What You'll Do
As a Respiratory Therapist with Activa Home Health, you will:
  • Perform comprehensive pulmonary and respiratory assessments in patients' homes.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized respiratory treatment plans.
  • Administer and monitor:
    • Oxygen Therapy
    • Nebulizer Treatments
    • Airway Clearance Therapy
    • CPAP/BiPAP Therapy
    • Mechanical Ventilator Management
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate changes in condition to physicians, nurses, and case managers.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on disease management, medication adherence, respiratory equipment, infection prevention, and safety.
  • Teach caregivers and healthcare team members proper respiratory therapy techniques in accordance with Florida regulations.
  • Assist with the setup, troubleshooting, maintenance, and education of home respiratory equipment including oxygen concentrators, portable oxygen systems, suction machines, CPAP/BiPAP devices, and home ventilators.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences to coordinate patient care.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Support Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives and promote the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Current Florida Respiratory Therapist license (RRT or CRT).
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (ACLS preferred).
  • Valid Florida driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent respiratory care experience.
  • One (1) year of Home Health experience.
  • Experience managing home oxygen therapy and mechanical ventilators.
  • Experience using electronic medical records (EMR).

Additional Information
Daily travel throughout the service area is required. Candidates must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and comply with OSHA infection control standards.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
