McLeod Centers for Wellbeing is currently searching for a Full-time EMR Super Administrator to work in its Information Technology department in Charlotte, NC. This is a hybrid role, working from our Charlotte, NC office multiple days a week.

How will you help us achieve our mission? You will: 

  • Serve as the primary internal administrator and subject matter expert for Kipu EMR.
  • Review requested system changes and determine the appropriate Kipu workflow or configuration.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Revenue Cycle, Operations, Compliance, and clinical leadership to develop meaningful performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Troubleshoot user-access and permission issues.
  • Coordinate with department leadership to ensure staff have the appropriate level of access for their responsibilities.
  • Maintain existing Kipu evaluations, consents, assessments, progress notes, and other forms.
  • Build or modify forms when organizational or regulatory requirements change.
  • Test new or modified forms before releasing them to staff.
  • Troubleshoot common workflow, documentation, configuration, and access issues.
  • Escalate system issues to Kipu Support when vendor assistance is required.
  • Review Kipu product updates and determine whether new functionality is relevant to the organization.
  • Maintain role-specific onboarding procedures for Kipu users.
  • Train staff when Kipu workflows or organizational processes change.
  • Maintain internal Kipu training materials and standard operating procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify or standardize existing Kipu processes.
  • Coordinate changes across departments when a workflow affects multiple areas of the organization.
  • Assist with EMR changes resulting from regulatory, accreditation, payer, or organizational requirements.
  • Maintain an organized process for Kipu change requests.
  • Develop and adhere to policies, procedures, and standards to meet all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, and currently accepted legal standards.

What are the qualifications needed for this role?  

Education/Experience:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Nursing, Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required.
  • A Master's degree in Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience administering an EMR/EHR or comparable healthcare information system.
  • Knowledge of Kipu EHR preferred, but not required.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare operations and clinical documentation workflows.
  • Experience managing users, roles, permissions, and system access.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with clinical, medical, administrative, compliance, and operational staff.
  • Experience working with clinical, medical, admissions, compliance, and revenue-cycle workflows preferred

Computer Skills:  

  • Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office software (Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
  • Understanding of health informatics principles, including medical terminologies, electronic health records (EHR) programs, data modeling, and analytics systems.
  • Proficiency in using EHR data modeling systems for clinical documentation, performance metrics, regulatory reporting, and information security.
