Mental Health Therapist


Location: Remote — Kentucky-based position
Employment Type: Full-time
Compensation: $85k-$90k (based on experience)


About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and clinically strong Licensed Therapist to join our growing Virtual Outpatient Program. This is a full-time telehealth role providing direct clinical services to individuals receiving outpatient behavioral health and addiction treatment services.


The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping clients achieve long-term recovery, comfortable providing care in a virtual environment, and experienced with assessments, treatment planning, individual therapy, group therapy, and timely clinical documentation.


All services are delivered via telehealth, and documentation is completed in KIPU.


What You’ll Do

As a Virtual Therapist, you will provide direct clinical care and support throughout the client’s treatment experience. Responsibilities include:


  • Complete biopsychosocial assessments upon intake
  • Develop, maintain, and update individualized treatment plans
  • Conduct weekly or biweekly individual therapy sessions
  • Facilitate virtual evening group sessions, including process and psychoeducational groups
  • Assess client progress toward treatment goals and objectives
  • Administer and review clinical assessments, including PHQ-9, GAD-7, and C-SSRS
  • Identify and escalate safety concerns, clinical deterioration, or the need for a higher level of care
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in KIPU EMR within 24 hours of each client encounter
  • Ensure documentation supports medical necessity and meets clinical standards
  • Participate in clinical meetings, documentation reviews, and quality improvement activities
  • Maintain a private, HIPAA-compliant space and reliable internet connection for telehealth services


What We’re Looking For

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field
  • Independent Ohio licensure (LPCC, LCSW, LMFT)
  • Experience providing individual and group therapy
  • Experience with clinical assessments, treatment planning, and documentation
  • Ability to facilitate evening virtual groups
  • Strong communication, organization, and clinical follow-through
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring mental health conditions
  • Experience in outpatient, PHP, IOP, residential, or addiction treatment settings
  • KIPU EMR experience preferred
  • Strong comfort level with telehealth platforms and virtual clinical care
