Job description

Godby Hearth & Home is seeking a highly motivated individual to service gas and wood burning hearth products. We’ve crafted company guidelines to utilize manufacturer specifications, architectural drawings, safety manuals. This is a full-time year-round position with optional overtime during the busy season.

What’s in it for you?

  • This position will pay $20 - $35 per hour, depending on experience.
  • You will work from 7:30am to 4pm Monday through Friday (45 hours per week avg). There will be some weekends available during the busy season for overtime.
  • Our employees are offered a great benefits package that includes paid time off, medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, and life insurance. We also offer identity theft protection and a matching 401(k) program.
  • 10% Commission on accessories sold (Potential to make additional $5-10K/yr)

What would you do if hired?

  • Service fireplace systems as required by Godby standards, manufacturer’s specifications, and local building codes.
  • Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing fireplace systems for a safe and efficient operation.
  • Review instruction manuals prior to installing products and maintain a working knowledge of installed products.
  • Support retail showroom, including maintenance and updating of showroom displays
  • Install, set up, and repair commercial and residential gas grills, log sets, and firepits.
  • Follow OSHA guidelines and company safety procedures.

What you will need:

  • This job also requires that you be able to lift 75+ lbs. individually, and in some cases over 200 lbs. lifting as a team.
  • A strong attention to details and solid time management skills to prioritize project deadlines.
  • General mechanical aptitude required. This includes using multiple power and hand tools proficiently.
  • An understanding of gas and electrical connections is preferred, but not necessary.
  • General understanding of gas or LP valves; electrical switches, fans, remote controls, & ignition systems.
  • Effective written and oral communication.
  • An ability to use critical thinking for resolutions of jobsite installations.
  • Valid driver’s license – no DUI in background check (insurance requirement).
