Job Description

The Tooling Design Engineer will report directly to the Director of Operations.  This position will have primary responsibility for the design of gages for measuring, fixtures used in manufacturing, and process drawings used throughout manufacturing.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design gages and fixtures to part specifications
  • Create detailed drawings from part models
  • Provide quote information to Account Managers
  • Maintain approved documents in Synergy
  • Collaborate with project team and manufacturing engineers
  • Seek input from other team members

 Experience/Education

  • 4-year degree required or 5 years of experience in CAD design in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • ISO 13485 experience preferred

Essential Job Function/Skills

  • Knowledge of and experience in using SolidWorks
  • Knowledge of and experience in using Auto CAD
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, including GD&T
  • Ability to adapt to workload
  • Ability to operate office equipment, including computers, copiers, fax machines, plotter, and phones.

Environmental & Physical Demands

  • Manufacturing environment. May require sitting or standing for long periods of time.
  • Occasional exposure to loud noise.
  • May require long periods of time in front of a computer
