Job Title: Envelope Machine Adjuster
Job Description
The Envelope Machine Adjuster sets up, adjusts, and maintains envelope production machinery to meet precise job specifications and quality standards. This role combines mechanical setup, light machine operation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance while collaborating closely with a cell-based production team to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate output.
Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, and calibrate envelope machines, including feeding, folding, gumming, sealing, banding, and slitting mechanisms, according to job specifications and standard work procedures.
- Operate envelope production equipment and perform light machine operation to support continuous, efficient production.
- Troubleshoot machinery issues, identify root causes, and make appropriate adjustments or minor repairs to minimize downtime.
- Perform light duty preventive maintenance, emergency interventions, and scheduled machine changes and maintenance activities.
- Execute machine changeovers and tool changes to support different jobs, formats, and production lines.
- Provide clear, job-specific instructions and critical information to Cell Team members before and during production runs.
- Monitor production throughout job completion, ensuring machines run within specified parameters and output meets quality requirements.
- Perform sign-offs and quality checks in collaboration with Cell Team members, verifying that finished products meet customer and internal standards.
- Maintain accurate and timely production records, equipment logs, and computer software entries for all jobs and machines operated.
- Comply with all housekeeping standards by keeping work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Follow all safety requirements and procedures and actively contribute to a safe work environment for yourself and others.
- Communicate effectively with maintenance and leadership when issues exceed light repair scope or require additional support.
- Participate in training and skill development opportunities to progress through the position’s defined levels and responsibilities.
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and work with mechanical systems and components.
- Experience with machine operation in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to perform machine setup, including line setup and machine changeovers.
- Light duty troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving basic mechanical and operational issues.
- Capability to perform tool changes and light repairs within defined scope and guidelines.
- Comfort working with production lines and line setup in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of machine maintenance practices and the ability to support scheduled and light preventive maintenance.
- Attention to detail for performing quality checks, sign-offs, and accurate documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret job specifications and standard work instructions.
- Basic computer skills to enter production data and maintain equipment and job records.

Work Environment
The work environment is quiet, clean, and well organized, with a strong emphasis on safety and good housekeeping practices. You work on envelope production machinery and related equipment in a cell-based team setting, following structured training plans that support your growth and confidence on the machines. Multiple shifts are available: first shift runs Monday to Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; second shift runs Monday to Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; and third shift runs Sunday to Thursday, 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with overtime as needed. The culture is described as very laid back, including a relaxed dress code, while still maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and organization.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $36.00/hr.
