Audio Engineer - Media & Archival Services
Job Summary Iron Mountain is seeking a meticulous and experienced Audio Engineer - Media & Archival Services to join our Entertainment Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for the high-fidelity digitization of analog assets, the expert restoration of audio using professional software, and the maintenance of archival integrity through precise metadata capture and chain-of-custody procedures.
What You'll Do In this role, you will:
  • Preserve Cultural History: Digitize and convert a wide range of legacy analog and digital audio materials into high-quality, preservation-standard digital formats, ensuring the longevity of irreplaceable media.
  • Master Restoration & Remediation: Perform complex audio restoration, including noise reduction and equalization, while collaborating with archivists and client services to meet specific project delivery specifications.
  • Ensure Technical Excellence: Maintain studio hardware and software (including tape machines and DAWs) and uphold strict compliance with organizational standards for metadata organization and archival tracking.

What You'll Bring The ideal candidate will have:
  • 3+ years of experience in audio engineering, specifically within a studio or archival environment.
  • Experience with Pro Tools
  • Strong knowledge of analog and digital audio formats (reel-to-reel, DAT, etc.) and expert proficiency in Pro Tools and iZotope RX.
  • Proven ability in technical troubleshooting and managing high-volume projects with extreme attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Music Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience).
