Engineer: Embedded Audio Software Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking an Embedded Audio Software Engineer to help develop and integrate innovative audio technologies for next-generation consumer devices. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers who are passionate about audio, embedded software, and emerging AI-powered development tools.
You will work alongside experienced engineers to develop audio algorithms, design and optimize embedded firmware, bring up new hardware platforms, and deliver high-quality audio solutions. The ideal candidate is curious, hands-on, and eager to learn modern software engineering practices, including the effective use of AI-assisted development tools to accelerate productivity and improve software quality.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, optimize, and deploy embedded software and device drivers for ADI audio ICs.
  • Implement, test, and debug audio software and firmware on embedded platforms.
  • Assist with audio system integration and bring-up on Linux, Windows, Android, and embedded platforms.
  • Develop automated tests, validation frameworks, and audio test procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve software and system issues with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Collaborate with hardware, DSP, systems, applications, and customer engineering teams to deliver high-quality audio solutions.
  • Use modern software development practices, including source control, code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration workflows.
  • Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools (such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and similar coding agents) to accelerate software development, debugging, test generation, documentation, and code reviews while applying sound engineering judgment and verification practices.
  • Continuously learn new technologies and contribute to improving development processes and engineering productivity.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in embedded software, firmware, or audio software development through academic projects, internships, research, or industry experience.
  • Programming experience in C/C++ and Python.
  • Familiarity with software development tools and workflows, including Git and modern IDEs.
  • Basic understanding of embedded systems, operating systems, or computer architecture.
  • Interest in using AI-assisted software development tools to improve engineering productivity.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
