Job description

Fiber Cabling Technician (Data Center) – Onsite

Locations:

· Council Bluffs, IA

· Ashburn, VA

Work Environment: 100% onsite in data center environments
Pay Rate: $21-28/hour

Duration: Long-term assignment with immediate hiring needs and projected work extending through at least the end of the year, with ongoing work anticipated into FY27.

Position Summary

We are seeking Fiber Cabling Technicians to support large-scale data center retrofit and infrastructure projects. This role will focus on fiber cabling installation and decommissioning activities within active data center environments. Technicians will work onsite and support ongoing campus expansion and retrofit initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

· Install and decommission fiber cabling in data center environments.

· Perform rack-to-rack fiber cabling installation.

· Support high-volume fiber infrastructure deployments.

· Follow established data center cabling standards and procedures.

· Coordinate with onsite resource management and operations teams.

· Maintain accurate documentation related to completed work.

· Adhere to all safety, security, and site access requirements.

· Support project ramp-up schedules and staffing demands as business needs evolve.

Shift Information

Council Bluffs, IA

· Shift 1: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Ashburn, VA

· Shift 1: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM

· Shift 2: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Required Qualifications

· Experience installing fiber cabling.

· Experience with rack-to-rack fiber cabling.

· Ability to work onsite in a data center environment.

· Ability to obtain and maintain required site access credentials and badges.

Preferred Qualifications

· Previous Google data center experience.

· Existing Google LDAP account or prior Google badging experience.

· Experience supporting NTT data center environments.


*Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
