Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) is seeking a creative and motivated student worker to develop and manage the social media presence for the Kinesiology and Health Sciences (KHS) department, and the Nursing umbrella of programs. Following the recommendations of our recent KHS program review, along with the Nursing undergraduate and graduate program, this role focuses on boosting program recognition, increasing campus and online program viewership, and highlighting student faculty, and staff achievements. The ideal candidate is passionate about digital storytelling and eager to showcase the value of the KHS and Nursing programs to current students, prospective students, and the wider campus community.


Essential Job Responsibilities

Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across selected social media platforms to promote both programs.

Photograph and film department activities, lab sessions, and special events for promotional use.

Interview KHS and nursing students, faculty, staf, and alumni to feature their successes and stories.

Monitor channel engagement, respond to comments professionally, and help grow total viewership.

Collaborate with department leadership to ensure all content aligns with SMWC Vision, Mission, Values and Branding Guidelines.


Other Duties & Responsibilities

Maintain a basic content calendar to plan weekly or monthly posts.

Other duties as assigned.

Supervision Received: Works under direct supervision of the assigned KHS faculty and Program Support Specialist to the Division of Arts & Sciences.

Requirements

  •  Current undergraduate/graduate student at SMWC.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Basic familiarity with major social media platforms (such as Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook).
  • Strong communication skills and basic visual design or photography skills.
