CNC Programmer with Live Tool – Rockford, Illinois
Our customer in Rockford, Illinois, is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. As a CNC Programmer with Live Tool, you will be responsible for programming from print, setting up, and operating multi-axis CNC lathes equipped with live tooling using Mazatrol conversational programming.

Responsibilities of the CNC Programmer with Live Tool:
  • Program from print using Mazatrol by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches.
  • Calculate machining requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry and prove part programs.
  • Set up and operate multi-axis CNC lathes with live tooling and machines using Mazatrol conversational programming.
  • Serve as direct support to the Lathe Supervisor and assist CNC machinists with programs and setups.
  • Serve as direct support to the CNC Supervisor and assume this role in his absence.
  • Produce high-quality parts from technical drawings with minimal supervision.
  • Plan machining operations by studying detailed and complex blueprints and work orders and interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Set up lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, and stops.
  • Verify machine settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces and perform buddy checks.
  • Support the CNC Lathe team through programming, verifying setups, and performing buddy checks.

CNC Programmer with Live Tool Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience running CNC with live tooling and programming from print.
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming and operation, particularly with Mazatrol and Fanuc systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as micrometers, bore gauges, and calipers.
  • Ability to lead others.

Pay for CNC Programmer with Live Tool: $22–$27 per hour.
