About the Opportunity:

A CNC Programmer translates blueprints into machine code to create finished products, which involves programming various CNC machines and fine-tuning their parameters to ensure parts meet exact specifications. Key responsibilities include analyzing technical drawings, developing and testing programs, and making necessary adjustments to machine settings for optimal accuracy.

Location: Stuart, Florida (Onsite) - Monday to Friday (2nd Shift) - 10% Shift Differential

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews current fixtures and provides support for new fixture design/revisions as required
  • Recommends new cutting tools to improve existing programs and develop new
  • Analyzes drawings, sketches, design data and specifications pertaining to parts to determine program paths/techniques
  • Selects the appropriate tools and machine speed/feed rates according to the machine shop processes, part specifications and machine capabilities
  • Provides information for instruction sheets and cutter lists to guide set-up and operation of the machine
  • Optimize existing programs
  • Ensures quality control standards are maintained
  • Maintains production schedules from the prototype run to production
  • Provides shop floor support for the life of the program
  • Documents set-up information and programming writing/support for various CNC 3, 4 and 5 axis milling operations
  • Participates in process development, including creation of detailed router instructions, operation sheets, tool selection and fixture/tooling design
  • Interfaces daily with manufacturing, engineering and quality functions
  • Works with customers and suppliers to resolve process and design issues
  • Incorporates lean manufacturing in cell environment and quick-change set-up, etc.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two (2) years of related experience in CNC Programming and machine shop practices in the Aerospace industry, solid CAD modeling experience and fully fluent with Siemens NX for CNC Programming
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time bases without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two (2) year technical degree or equivalent
  • Excellent mathematical, measurement, and technical skills
  • Self-directed work ethic & time management skills to ensure projects are completed on time
  • Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T)
  • Ability to interpret complex blueprints and prepare machining process
  • Analytical skills to lead and solve problems to improve business process
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills
  • Must be a team player and work well with others in a cross functional team environment
  • Ability to create macros for part probing
  • Proficient with simulation software (Vericut preferred)
  • Thorough knowledge of G code programming
  • Knowledge and experience in the major aerospace alloy groups (titanium, stainless, nickel and aluminum)
  • Thorough knowledge of quality control procedures
  • Experience in 5-axis milling and superalloy turning
  • Skilled in CNC post processor development and refinement
  • Experience programming on-machine touch and laser tool setters
  • Capable of evaluating tool lengths and diameters to support regrind cutting tools
  • Expert computer software programming skills
  • Sound project management and presentation skills

Working Conditions:

  • Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to travel between locations or to suppliers up to 5% of time.
