Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Customer Manager will work with the Vice President of Sales to deliver objectives for key accounts including forecasting, budgeting, and ensuring that quality specifications and sales volumes are within target. The Customer Manager will set targets for volume, revenue, market share, new business opportunities, new item distribution, and implementation of corporate initiatives for assigned accounts and geography. ย 
Partner with clients to train retail staff and/or identify training opportunities with product handling, cold chain management, product rotation, ripening practices, inventory control, and replenishment. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain strong client relationships and serve as the liaison between sales, sourcing, and operations. Additionally, the Customer Manager will work in a cross-functional and collaborative manner with internal departments to execute company objectives.ย 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Present category management data to customers
  • Assist in development of customer pricing protocols
  • Develop new business proposals and develop pricing recommendations
  • Manage client contract negotiations
  • Assist with product pricing strategyย 
  • Lead cross functional teams to support key strategic accounts
  • Develop accurate monthly volume and sales forecasts
  • Fulfill requests for product information and develop sales presentations
  • Set up new customers and products in internal systems
JOB REQUIREMENTS:ย 
  • 4-year degree in Business Management, Marketing, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of Produce experience highly preferredย 
  • Category management experience preferredย 
  • Travel Requiredย 
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
  • Incumbent may use keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment during normal workday
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
