At Azalea Counseling Services, we are committed to providing exceptional mental health care that is accessible to all. We recognize the diverse needs of our clients, particularly those navigating the intricacies of terminal illness and grief. Our organization fosters a culture of respect and understanding, with a dedicated focus on enhancing mental health services in our community. Our multidisciplinary team is composed of licensed professionals who share a common goal: improving the quality of life for those we serve.

Work Environment

This position allows you to work remotely, contributing to a supportive atmosphere that prioritizes both client and therapist well-being. While you will primarily work from your home office, you will also engage with colleagues and participate in virtual team meetings to maintain a collaborative approach to patient care. Your role will often involve communicating closely with multidisciplinary teams within the hospice center, ensuring comprehensive mental health care for all clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments that help identify and address the unique needs of clients experiencing terminal illness or bereavement.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that integrate therapeutic modalities tailored to each client’s circumstances.
  • Provide a range of therapeutic services, including individual therapy, family counseling, and support groups, utilizing your expertise in diverse therapeutic techniques.
  • Collaborate effectively with case managers, medical staff, and social workers to ensure continuity of care and integrated treatment approaches.
  • Implement crisis intervention strategies when working with clients in acute distress, remaining calm and supportive in high-pressure situations.
  • Engage in outreach activities to promote mental health literacy and support for families dealing with grief and loss.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on clients receiving end-of-life care and their families, addressing mental health issues surrounding grief, loss, anxiety, and depression. By building therapeutic relationships with individuals from varied backgrounds, you will help them navigate emotional challenges during some of their most vulnerable times.

Qualifications
  • A valid and active license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field, with advanced qualifications preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills to bridge connections with clients and facilitate effective therapeutic relationships.
  • A demonstrated ability to work with culturally diverse populations, showcasing tact and sensitivity.
  • Strong organizational skills, coupled with proficiency in timely documentation and management of client information.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working within a hospice or palliative care environment is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for efficient documentation and client management.
  • Prior experience conducting group therapy sessions and outreach initiatives is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits

Azalea Counseling Services offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and credentials. In addition to financial compensation, we are pleased to provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Health insurance coverage encompassing medical, dental, and vision plans to support your well-being.
  • Professional liability insurance to ensure you practice with confidence.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday policies, promoting a healthy work-life balance.
  • Access to continuous professional development and educational opportunities to further enhance your skills.
  • A nurturing work environment that prioritizes team collaboration and ongoing supervision.
