This position will work part-time (January 2027-Mid-April 2027). This position is open to Onalaska, WI; Dodgeville, WI; Sun Prairie, WI or Fond du Lac, WI office location(s).

 The contributions you will make:

This position provides accurate and timely accounting processing and delivery of financial statements to clients. Supports less complex accounting accounts, including depreciation, payroll processing, and full-service accounts.

This position is expected to work approximately 20-40 hours on a weekly basis during tax season, generally January through mid-April. More details regarding the training and schedule will be provided at the time of an interview.

A typical day: 

  • Processes accounting transactions in a timely manner and in accordance with GAAP.
  • Inputs client-provided accounting data into accounting software.
  • Reviews, balances, keys and prints monthly accounting reports.
  • Analyzes client data in accounting software, such as QuickBooks
  • Meets multiple deadlines on accounts, including completion of processing accounting files in time for tax planning, W-2 and 1099 preparation and year-end tax preparation.

The skills and experience we prefer you have:

  • Associate's degree in business administration, accounting or a related field of study; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Previous experience in accounting or payroll processing.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • High degree of accuracy and organization.
  • Exercises a high level of ethical and professional judgement.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office applications and accounting software such as QuickBooks
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision either individually or as part of a team.
  • Understanding and experience in agricultural accounting is helpful, but not required

Actual hourly rate offered is dependent upon year in school, work experience, transferable skills, business needs and market demands. The hourly rate range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

$20—$25 USD
