We are in early every morning baking fresh bread and slicing vegetables, and we're not afraid to have a little (or a lot) of fun along the way. We succeed together as a family because let's be honest, nobody can compete with the Rockstars of Jimmy John's.

Calling all Go-Getters.

The Assistant Manager supports the General Manager in the daily operations of the store This role is critical in driving sales, maintaining exceptional customer service, upholding food safety and quality standards, and developing a positive and productive team environment. The Assistant Manager is expected to act as the leader in the General Manager's absence and be a role model for all team members.

To qualify for this rockstar opportunity, you are eligible to work in the U.S. and meet the age requirements and experience outlined within the application.

Certification.

In order to become an assistant manager, you must get certified. If you have previous Jimmy John's experience (more that three months in a leadership position, such as PIC or Asst. Manager) you may qualify for a local 1 week training program. If you have not had any JJ's experience than training consists of a 3 week onsite program out of state, with approximately 2 weeks of online and in store training prior to traveling the onsite.

Responsibilities:
  • Assists in managing a staff of approximately 20 employees, including hiring, training, evaluating and discipline.
  • Forecasts daily usage of food items per shift, which requires some fundamental math skills.
  • Performs daily duties, including slicing meats, prepping veggies and baking bread.
  • Implement and audit Jimmy John's policies, systems and procedures.
  • Completes necessary paperwork on a daily, weekly and periodic basis.
  • Manages cash drawers, bank deposits and change.
  • Participate in marketing and promotional activities.
  • Oversees and assists in providing great customer service to all.
Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have good communication skills, both with customers as well as staff.
  • Needs strong math ability, particularly in addition, subtraction, fractions and percentages.
  • Experience with basic usage of a personal computer.
  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Valid Drivers License and Insurance.
  • Reliable Transportation.
  • Some restaurant experience preferred.
