MANAGER SEGMENT SOLUTIONS
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
Reporting to USMB, the <> Segment Solutions manager is the key leader developing integrated solutions that support the << >> business segment strategy and innovation across mortgage banking needs. This role is also responsible for driving the go-to-market activities which connect offerings to market execution and delivery at the client level. As the Segment Solution manager (SSM), the success candidate will:• Ensure mortgage banking solutions are aligned with business segment strategy• Define key client needs and translate them into differentiated solutions• Coordinate across the portfolio management function to craft the solutions• Enable and execute compelling go-to-market strategies for solutions. The SSM will leverage knowledge of the market and competitors to translate hidden opportunity into organizational results. The ideal candidate will provide leadership in an increasingly complex commercial, regulatory, and technical environment to ensure the attainment of business goals. This role makes recommendations that provide fresh, innovative insight and poses questions to inspire different-in-kind thinking. Frames and answers key segment product design questions and fundamentals linked to business results and metrics. Defines the following:• Target customers and how are they segmented and served, with what are the products and solutions that will meet their current and future needs• How is success measured and using what components• Where the greatest business benefit is generated, and consequently where City National Bank 'doubles down' its product and solution development investment. Looks across the matrix of products, solutions, markets and segments and improves upon City National Bank's overall value proposition in the marketplace.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
  • The Segment Solutions manager (SSM) has responsibility for bringing new product and capability offerings (i.e. payments, collections, liquidity, fraud prevention and system integration) to << >> business segments. This leader will support and build upon product management activities to drive an integrated solution portfolio for the segment, partnering with City National's Line of Business (LOB) business leaders to truly enable sales and growth. This will include a comprehensive strategic review of the existing portfolio to identify, rationalize, and prioritize City National Bank's mortgage banking offerings across << >> segment.
  • The SSM will bring clarity to the current and future segment solutions strategy as it relates to Mortgage Banking needs, understanding and articulating the drivers and needs at different client levels. The successful candidate will embed segment solutions expertise across the organization and fundamentally enhance the face and impact of product management and go-to market activities while ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Setting Strategy and Integration Capabilities
  • Integrating knowledge of market dynamics, customer needs, competitive strengths and weaknesses, and internal capabilities into a sound strategic product portfolio plan.
  • Developing strategies for future scenarios and translating strategy across multiple functional areas.
  • Segment Portfolio Strategy and Planning
  • Competitive product insights and analytics to lead the mortgage initiatives
  • Working with the LOB leaders to translate business opportunities into a product portfolio and marketing plans/programs; ensuring consistency across products and segments; identifying and leveraging economies of scale where practical.
  • Partner with LOBs, by converting business objectives into product management strategies and providing direct oversight of the execution of programs that drive growth and retention.
  • Value Proposition and Strategy
  • Develop clearly differentiated positioning for mortgage products and offerings demonstrating why prospects should choose City National Bank
  • Translate client insights into portfolio strategies and value propositions.
  • Collaborate with peers and Portfolio Management leader to improve City National Bank's go-to-market strategies and increase speed to market.
  • Ability to complete a feasibility analysis and strategy and present to the ELT with recommendation

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years of experience developing and executing integrated product development programs in a scaled and national business. .

  • MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred
  • Proven leader with collaboration, team development and cross-functional/business partnering skills. Must be able to exert significant influence across large, complex business units and functions. The ideal candidate will be a change agent, joining a team that is supporting and building on a strong legacy platform, while at the same time driving innovation at all levels.
  • Experience in developing end-to-end go-to-market product strategies within a financial services firm or similarly complex, highly regulated industry.
  • Sleeves rolled up' agility to move seamlessly between thought leadership as well as tactical execution.
  • Ability to point to examples of contributing to the strategic direction of a business more broadly than in a pure product development function.
  • Consistently apply a broad, long-term view of the business and external environment, balancing external forces and internal realities, anticipating change and seeing competitive opportunities in an evolving marketplace.
  • Both a strategist and a practitioner - someone who can shape, teach and influence as well as deliver on explicit targets and goals.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills and be able to maintain respect and strong relationships across the organization while asking questions which challenge the status quo and lead to new thinking about the product, brand, customer experience and marketing programs .
  • High degree of organizational agility - the ability to handle large-scale change programs, the comfort to influence without always having direct control, and the savvy to navigate complex situations with multiple stakeholders.
  • Effective communicator, shaping opinions, overcoming objections, and convincing others of vision and strategy by flexing leadership styles appropriately to meet situational and individual needs

Compensation
Starting base salary: $141,830 - $263,408 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
