Reports To: Store Director 

In this Fresh Cut Produce leadership role, you'll play a key part in ensuring our guests have access to delicious, freshly cut fruit and veggie platters-perfect for daily meals, gatherings, and special occasions. You'll guide your team of associates to keep the fresh cut department stocked, organized, and ready, so our guests can rely on us for their entertaining needs. Your leadership will help maintain quality, efficiency, and exceptional service, ensuring our guests keep coming back.

What You'll Do:  

As a Fresh Cut Department Manager II at Festival Foods, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Provide Helpful Guest Service: Providing excellent guest service is at the heart of what we do.  Whether it's a friendly greeting, answering questions or addressing guest concerns, you'll handle each interaction with professionalism and care. Your willingness to help guests with what they need will make a positive impact every day. 
  • Lead and Coach: Inspire, coach, teach, and reinforce the Festival culture, customer service, and performance expectations to all Fresh Cut associates. 
  • Train Staff: Provide training for new Fresh Cut produce associates to ensure they understand company policies and procedures. 
  • Document and Review: Document violations of company policies/procedures by Fresh Cut produce associates and conduct progressive disciplinary actions as necessary; write and conduct performance reviews for Fresh Cut associates. 
  • Provide Guidance: Answer questions and provide guidance to all Fresh Cut retail sales associates. 
  • Ensure Standards: Ensure that all department standards are met in the Fresh Cut departments across all market locations. 
  • Monitor Conditions: Observe sales floor and cooler stock conditions, taking corrective action on areas of opportunity. 
  • Manage Inventory: Maintain appropriate inventory levels within all market stores and ensure accurate pricing on products received and sold. 
  • Collaborate Effectively: Communicate and work cooperatively with the Store Director, Produce Department Managers, and Fresh Cut associates to maintain standards and exceed guest expectations. 
  • Oversee Sanitation: Ensure all sanitation protocols are followed within the Fresh Cut department. 
  • Offer Assistance: Provide exceptional customer service to guests, assisting them in finding items and resolving any concerns they may have. 
  • Support Team Development: Assist all department associates with daily responsibilities while leading by example; develop associates to prepare for advancement opportunities. 
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Contribute to the overall cleanliness of the department by organizing, stocking, cleaning work areas, shelving, and the sales floor as needed. 
  • Track Food Safety: Maintain food safety logs to ensure compliance with safety standards. 
  • Meet Quality Expectations: Ensure all quality standards are met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 AM and 5 PM. 
  • Honor Commitments: Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, with adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences. 
  • Support the Team: Perform other duties as assigned. 

What We're Looking For: To succeed as a Festival Foods Fresh Cut Manager, you should have: 

  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and associates. 
  • Effective Communication: Good oral and written communication skills, with the ability to handle a diverse crew in a stressful environment. 
  • Safety Knowledge: Thorough understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies, including proper lifting techniques and box cutter safety. 
  • Equipment Proficiency: Ability to use equipment such as a power jack, walk-behind lift, WAV, baler, and compactor. 
  • Food Safety Certification: Must have a WI Certified Food Manager License (Festival will pay for certification if not obtained). 

Physical Demands and Work Environment: 

The physical demands and work environment described below are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.   

  • The associate must possess the ability to stand in place for long periods of time; work in a cooler, walk in the store; bend, stoop and kneel regularly.   
  • The associate must have full range of upper body motion in order to lift product.  Requires the ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.  
  • Must possess functional sensory abilities in order to visually monitor the store, create attractive displays, and to operate equipment.  
  • The position requires the associate to lift up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis. 

Work Schedule: 

The Fresh Cut Manager II is a full-time position. The work schedule will include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays in a retail grocery store environment.
