Charter One works with schools across the country to provide all-inclusive education management services. At Charter One we pride ourselves on our thorough knowledge of charter school operations, academics, finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, and more. We handle the day-to-day work so that client school boards can focus on governance and policy issues to be sure that the vision and mission of the school are being carried out properly.


Wake Preparatory Academy-High School is now accepting applications for a French Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check.


The French Teacher is a passionate educator devoted to cultivating a profound appreciation for the French language and Francophone cultures. In this role, you will design and deliver an engaging, immersive curriculum aimed at enhancing studentsโ€™ French-speaking proficiency, writing skills, and cultural understanding. Youโ€™ll foster critical thinking through interactive lessons that showcase Francophone literature, history, and real-world contexts. The French Teacher will also champion communication and inclusivity by encouraging students to explore French as a bridge between cultures.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and address the learning needs of students at various proficiency levels.
  • Deliver daily lessons in French, focusing on vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, and translation skills.
  • Administer assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress, providing timely feedback to help students improve.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment, promoting student engagement and encouraging participation in discussions and activities.
  • Adapt instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, providing additional support or enrichment opportunities as needed.
  • Grade assignments, quizzes, and exams, and maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.
  • Communicate regularly with students and parents regarding academic progress, upcoming assignments, and any concerns or issues that may arise.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the foreign language department and other subject areas to create interdisciplinary learning experiences.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in language instruction and enhance teaching skills.
  • Organize and participate in activities or events that promote the study of French culture, such as French Club meetings, competitions, or cultural celebrations.
  • Provide academic and emotional support to students, helping them navigate challenges related to language learning and fostering a love for French.
  • Other duties as assigned.
