Job description

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) is seeking a Project Engineer for our Structural Department in Wall, NJ.


Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, design, and delivery of structural engineering projects for commercial, institutional, industrial, and residential buildings.

  • Assist in the design and analysis of structural systems including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.

  • Prepare structural calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and related documentation.

  • Coordinate structural designs with architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other disciplines.

  • Participate in project meetings and collaborate with senior engineers and project managers.

  • Support construction administration activities, including shop drawing review, RFIs, and field observations.

  • Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, standards, and project requirements.

  • Contribute to maintaining high-quality project delivery and client satisfaction.

  • Engage in mentorship and professional development opportunities, progressively taking on greater project responsibility.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree a plus)

  • 5 years of structural engineering experience in a consulting environment

  • PE license in NJ

  • Working knowledge of building codes and structural analysis/design software

  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment

Compensation
