Fyda Freightliner, Pittsburgh, Inc., is western Pennsylvania’s leading Freightliner and Western Star dealership. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Sells parts to all customers, over the counter, via email, through the shop or on the phone. Specifically the parts counterperson:

  • Assist all customers both retail and shop in selecting required parts. Share the cost and availability of the parts.
  • Inform customer of companion part requirements and specials, and ensure that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
  • Participates in the coordination of orders being pulled and filled from the warehouse to their customer.
  • Provides information to Parts Manager and Buyer on out-of-stock products.
    • Locates out-of-stock parts from outside source.
    • Follows up on back-ordered parts.
  • Solicits assigned accounts by phone or email.
  • Log lost sales to track demand.
  • Participates in all training programs made available in order to keep current on new products and product updates.

Maintains professional appearance.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

A high school diploma or equivalent required with basic knowledge of truck/auto components.

  • Excellent communication skills and must speak English.
  • High school business math.
  • Knowledge of and ability to work on a computer.
  • General mechanical aptitude.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job. Specifically:

  • Must be able to walk, stand, kneel, crouch, reach and lift.
  • Must be able to carry 10 to 50 pounds 70% of the work time; 51 to 90 pounds 20% of the work time; and 100 plus pounds 10% of the work time.
