Job description

As a Carrier Sales Representative, you will work directly with trucking companies to build relationships, negotiate rates, and secure capacity for customer freight. You'll leverage our existing carrier network while developing new relationships to move freight efficiently and profitably.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, negotiating, and solving problems in a fast-paced environment. Success in this position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build trust with diverse personalities. We are looking for a motivated, goal-oriented individual who can prioritize effectively, work collaboratively, and contribute to individual, team, and company success.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective carrier partners
• Negotiate competitive freight rates while ensuring profitable outcomes
• Make outbound calls to develop carrier partnerships and secure capacity for customer freight
• Manage inbound communications from carriers, customers, and internal team members
• Prioritize and coordinate daily freight coverage activities in a fast-paced environment
• Verify and onboard new carrier partners according to company qualification standards
• Monitor freight movements and proactively communicate updates or issues
• Collaborate with Account Managers to ensure exceptional customer service and successful load execution
• Analyze market conditions and carrier capacity to make informed pricing and coverage decisions
• Support team goals through effective communication, relationship management, and problem-solving
• Maintain accurate records and respond promptly to emails and phone calls

Qualifications:

Sales, recruiting, account management, customer service, or other relationship-building experience preferred
• Experience making outbound and inbound phone calls
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with carriers, customers, and team members
• Goal-oriented with a desire to achieve individual and team performance objectives
• Organized and effective in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to multitask and navigate multiple systems in a Windows-based environment
