Job description

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Operations Manager is primarily responsible for ensuring that orders are filled at the distribution center for delivery company wide. The Operations Supervisor also ensures that merchandise sold by our sales team or at the branch retail store locations is shipped completely and accurately in a timely manner.  
A Little About Your Day: You will:
 
  • Prioritize job duties for the entire crew while working closely with departments to fill orders company-wide effectively and productively.
  • Manage the operations team providing coaching, guidance, and mentorship, resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Work with department managers company-wide, including branch management associates, Sales, Purchasing, service and rental, and Operations Management, to ensure warehouse operations are operating in an effective and efficient manner to meet customer needs.
  • Ensure workplace safety is a top priority and guidelines are adhered to.
  • Manage truck safety including safe loading, and coordinate with Fleet Manager on truck maintenance and repair.
  • Participate in decisions regarding delivery times, route schedules, and other logistics for delivering the product.
  • Assist in fulfilling special orders that require additional attention and perform stock counts to ensure stock levels are accurate.
  • Work with Inventory Control and the Maintenance Department to work on the creation of additional storage space in both the main distribution center and the branch locations.
  • Recheck all orders for Hardware Spot to determine if they were picked correctly and shipped in the costliest and most effective way.
  • Prepare and process UPS and freight bills for outbound shipment, ensuring they are paid and charged to the customer if applicable.

What You’ll Need for success: 
  • High school degree or equivalent required.
  • College degree in related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ management/supervisory/lead experience in a Distribution environment responsible for warehouse/driver management.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
