Customer Service Floater

Position Summary:

The Customer Service Floater will report to the Director of Customer Service or the Customer Service Manager. The Floater is responsible for performing Customer Service functions that provide support to the department. Incumbents will be in different areas as needed and assigned by the Customer Service Manager. The incumbent will assist the Manager and team leader in carrying out general office duties and perform in accordance with general work instructions and established office practices, procedures, and precedents to perform job successfully, and must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and have communication with his/her supervisor.

Essential Functions:

  • General office duties, billing, filing, preparing shipping documents including but not limited to Bill of Lading, Shipping Letter of Instructions, Customs 7512 Form, Verified Gross Mass for containers.
  • Updates departmental filing system as needed.
  • Process customer orders including but not limited to input in JD Edwards, shipping instructions, pricing and looking up purchase orders in the PO Log.
  • Matching sales orders, sending invoices and Bill of lading to customer's AP email.
  • Research history from files for invoices for Accounting, Scan / Index internal documents in Docuware.
  • Assist Document Control as needed, processing pickers, invoices and 7512/QP documentation.
  • The position requires participation in scheduled inventories, as needed.
  • Additional duties will be assigned as needed.

Education/Experience Required:

High School Diploma or Equivalency is required. 2 years of Freight Forwarding, Customer Service, Accounting, Clerical experience in related field or a combination of experience and education is preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish is required.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Power Point/Outlook).
  • Calculator, fax machine, copier, telephone.
  • Background in EDI and JD Edwards preferred.
