POSITION SUMMARY:


Coordinates international import and export freight activities to support the timely, accurate, and cost-

effective movement of materials, products, and supplies. Serves as a liaison among suppliers, freight

forwarders, internal departments, warehouses, and third-party logistics providers to manage shipment

documentation, track freight activity and costs, resolve transportation and receiving issues, and

maintain accurate shipment and inventory records.

Essential Functions:

• Coordinates international import and export shipments, including full container load (FCL), less-

than-container load (LCL), and air freight, from origin through final receipt

• Collaborates with suppliers, freight forwarders, internal departments, and third-party logistics

(3PL) providers to coordinate shipment schedules, monitor delivery dates, and resolve

transportation or receiving issues

• Reviews freight options and obtains and compares carrier and forwarder quotes to support cost-

effective and timely transportation decisions

• Monitors, tracks, and analyzes international freight costs and shipment activity, identifying

opportunities to improve transportation efficiency and control costs

• Reviews import and export shipping documentation for completeness and accuracy and

maintains required shipment records and supporting documentation

• Coordinates freight-related invoicing and documentation with international freight forwarders

and appropriate internal departments

• Tracks international shipments and proactively investigates delays, missing shipments,

documentation discrepancies, and other exceptions through resolution

• Coordinates container and receiving documentation with Production Planning & Control (PP&C),

warehouses, 3PL providers, and other stakeholders to support timely receipt and accurate

inventory movement

• Maintains inventory accuracy and supports compliance with applicable company procedures,

safety requirements, ISO standards, and 5S practices

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Required Skills/Abilities:


• Knowledge of international freight documentation and import/export processes

• Working knowledge of PC-based skills (SAP, Word, Excel, Tableau)

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and time management skills

• Ability to work without close supervision

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or Equivalency required

• Minimum three (3) years of related experience in logistics or production control required

Work Environment & Travel:

• Work is performed primarily in a professional office environment

• Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines or business

needs

• Minimal travel between company locations or business sites may be required

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer

• Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones

• Ability to occasionally move about the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, and office

machinery

• Light physical effort, including occasionally lifting or moving office items up to 15 pounds
