Job description

Virnig Manufacturing is a family-owned company based in Central Minnesota that designs and builds high-quality skid steer loader attachments. Since 1989, Virnig has grown by focusing on strong products, reliable service, and long-term relationships with dealers and customers.
The Freight Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating the transportation of freight to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of goods. This role serves as a liaison between customers, carriers, warehouse personnel, and internal teams to schedule shipments, track freight movements, resolve transportation issues, and maintain accurate shipping documentation.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate domestic and/or international freight shipments from origin to destination.
  • Schedule pickups and deliveries with carriers, suppliers, and customers.
  • Monitor shipment status and proactively communicate updates, delays, or issues with the Plant Manager and Shipping Lead.
  • Prepare and maintain shipping documents, bills of lading, freight invoices, and customs paperwork as required.
  • Resolve shipping discrepancies, damages, shortages, and transportation-related claims.
  • Collaborate with warehouse, production, purchasing, and customer service teams to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate records in transportation management systems (TMS), ERP systems, and shipping databases.
  • Trace all shipments to ensure on-time deliveries when necessary.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, or freight coordination.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and/or machinery is helpful.
  • Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and ERP software preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Physical Requirements:
