Old Dominion Freight Line is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Shop Supervisor to join our OD Family Culture. This Supervisor will successfully supervise all areas of the shop facility including working in a team environment. The shop maintains Old Dominion truck fleet by inspecting, repairing, and replacing parts within heavy equipment including forklifts. Working knowledge of basic welding and DOT compliance. This position requires decisive decision-making skills when required, along with great time management. Follow all company procedures and supervisors' instructions along with administrative duties when required.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitors and evaluates the shop facility in a safe, efficient, timely, cost effective and practical manner

  • Continually research new technology relating to the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty vehicles

  • Schedule and assign work

  • Manage manpower to ensure peak workload times are covered

  • Audit work orders

  • Actively monitors work habits and strive to increase productivity

  • Assist with development and monitoring of paperless environment, include Bar Coding

  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping

  • Recommend and actively train all employees with the goal of improving their knowledge

  • Actively monitor work habits and strive to increase productivity

  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction

  • Work closely with the parts manager and shop manager to ensure a timely repair of equipment

  • Provide information, advice and direction to all employees in their area of responsibility

  • Work closely with warranty administrator

  • Assist with formation of shop budget and management of the same

  • Recruiting and retention of shop employees


Qualifications:

  • High School Degree or equivalent preferred

  • Supervisor Experience preferred
