Job description

Job Overview: Responsible for moving product. A forklift operator at UNFI is required to have a strong understanding of their lift, the pallets associate is carrying, productivity measures, and safety procedures.
Rate of Pay: Starting at $23.25/Hourly + $1.25 freezer differential
Schedule:
  • Current available schedules are 4 PM, 5-8's work schedule, DC closed on Saturdays. Sundays are a mandatory work day!
  • Stand-up reach truck experience required. Will be trained to use a high-reach truck with a fork-mounted camera.
  • Primarily works in temperatures below 0 degrees Fahrenheit. Freezer operation
  • Applicants must understand this position has the same lifting requirements as an order selector. Required to lift up to 100lbs.
  • Schedule depends on business needs.
  • Candidates who are applying to any of our full-time roles must be flexible to work any day during the week to be considered. Serious inquiries only.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Reports to the receiving office at the beginning of each shift for the daily assignment, vehicle inspection sheet and replenishment discrepancies sheet.
  • Inspects assigned lift and completes vehicle inspection sheet.
  • Replenishes pick slots using the view request screen. If no requests exist, uses the manual replenish screen to fill empty or almost empty slots.
  • Maintains correct counts and logs any discrepancies in inventory.
  • Cuts and removes shrink wrap from all knockdowns.
  • Removes all empty pallets from pick locations and aisles. Separates the good, bad, and blue pallets and neatly stages in pallet staging area.
  • Parks and recharges lift in its appropriate spot at the end of the shift.
  • Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Job Requirements:
  • Understanding of Safety guidelines.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable warehouse functions and RF systems.
  • Warehouse/Operations preferred but not required.
  • At least 6 months experience on sit down or stand-up forklift.
