Forklift Operator-Freezer Warehouse

Overview

The Freezer Forklift Operator is responsible for understanding and following all assigned tasks and abiding by all safety requirements.ย  The Freezer Forklift Operator plays a vital role in providing support to the production plants as well as storing and shipping ingredients and finishing products.

Responsibilities

  • Performs the responsibilities and tasks assigned with the general guidance of the Logistics Leader, Leader, and Logistics Site Leader.
  • Warehouse equipment responsibilities:
    • Operates machinery or equipment as trained and instructed following safety guidelines at all times.
    • Assists with preparing for production shift.
    • Become knowledgeable of the mechanics and operation of machine in which they operate.
    • Understand the receiving process and how it supports the Distribution Center.
  • Palletizing responsibilities:
    • Assists in the loading of trucks.
    • Assists in the completing shipping/receiving documents.
    • Verify loads leaving the premises.
  • Comply with the following programs within the production area:
    • Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program
    • Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's)
    • Any and all food safety programs.
    • Any and all safety programs.
  • Utilizes understanding of the Distribution Center to make Management aware of delays in the loading process/production selections and set up.
  • Ability to communicate problems or issues that are occurring on the production floor or the warehouse area to their Crew Leader or Leader.
  • Ability to work and communicate with other departments on production issues or concerns.
  • Follows attendance policy. Observes department call-in procedures.ย  Exhibits timely arrival and departure and dependable time habits including meal and other breaks.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and gets along well with coworkers.
  • Exhibits teamwork and willingness to help others.
  • Follows dress code and maintains a professional appearance.
  • Can be relied upon to complete assigned tasks.
  • Complies with established Departmental and Organizational policies and procedures.
  • Works within a team environment to meet/exceed established production standards.
  • As need dictates, both assigned shift, work location, and work schedule may be changed by management with or without prior notice.
    • May have to work weekends and holidays.
    • May have to work over 40 hours per week.

    Requirements

    • Minimum 1 year work experience. Warehouse experience preferred.
    • Must have a great attention to detail to be able to detect the presence of product or ingredient issues.
    • Ability to visually inspect product and materials.
    • An understanding or willingness to learn food manufacturing and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
    • Must be able to understand and follow verbal or written communications.
    • Must be able to work flexible shifts, weekend and overtime as needed.
