Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Multi-Specialty ICU position requiring 3 years of critical care experience and a WI or compact RN license.
Job Details
• Multi-specialty ICU within a Level II Trauma Center hospital,
• High-acuity patient population including neuro, post-cardiovascular surgery, medical, surgical, and trauma ICU patients requiring CRRT,
• No pediatric, burn, or transplant patients,
• Patient ratio of 1:2,
• 12-hour day shift schedule with 7am start, 36 hours per week,
• Every other weekend rotation required,
• Floating required to all MedSurg units in rotation,
• On-call requirement of 1 shift per six weeks,
• Support staff includes CNA at 1:12 ratio, centralized tele monitoring tech, 24-hour Intensivist coverage, mid-level coverage, full-time ICU educator, and CV coordinator,
• Charge nurse does not carry a patient assignment,
• Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis medication system,
• One shift of orientation provided on the unit,
Job Requirements
• Active WI or compact RN license required,
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS,
• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required,
• Skills required include trachs, vents, chest tubes, vasoactive drips, procedural recoveries, and temporary pacemakers,
• Special competencies required for post-cardiovascular recovery, CRRT, and neuro patients; contract staff may not be assigned to these populations,
• Candidate's middle name or initial required for consideration,
• Candidate DOB and last 4 of SSN required for consideration,
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN,
Additional Information
• Provide critical care nursing to a high-acuity, multi-specialty ICU population,
• Any scrub color permitted,
• Free parking available outside the inpatient entrance,
• Up to 7 days of time off can be approved per assignment,
• Called off up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment based on unit needs,
• Holiday coverage required as needed,
• First-time travelers considered upon review,
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions,
• Former employees of Advocate Health or its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignment
