Utilizing multiple radar systems, including an immersive mobile 3D radar, and more than 100,000 HD cameras located around the country, the service offers users an innovative approach to forecasting, including coverage surrounding all weather patterns, from immediate to long-term. FOX Weather is available via foxweather.com, the FOX Weather app on IOS and Android devices, as well as Tubi, Apple TV, Amazon, and Roku, through FOX's Connected TV Apps.JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX Weather is looking for a part-time Freelance Production Assistant to join our team in New York. In this role, you'll support live programming by helping producers and meteorologists bring breaking weather stories to air. You'll pitch stories, compile research, coordinate video and graphic elements, edit video, write graphics, source compelling user-generated content, and contribute to our social media presence. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a passion for weather and live news.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support producers and meteorologists by researching stories and preparing visual elements for live programming

  • Attend editorial meetings and help identify the strongest video, graphics, and storytelling opportunities

  • Source, verify, and clear compelling user-generated content from social media and other platforms

  • Ingest, log, and edit video and sound bites

  • Write clear, accurate lower thirds, banners, and video graphics with close attention to detail

  • Use Adobe Premiere to edit video and graphics for air

  • Coordinate with reporters and producers to manage production elements for live shots and looklives

  • Stay up to date on breaking weather events and newsroom priorities

  • Assist the production team with other editorial and production needs as assigned

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience

  • Internship or professional experience in a newsroom, broadcast, or digital production environment

  • Basic video editing experience using Adobe Premiere or similar non-linear editing software

  • Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and perform under tight deadlines in a breaking news environment

  • Proficiency with social media platforms

  • Passion for weather news is a plus
