Job description

Bordelon Marine is seeking a skilled and motivated USCG Licensed Engineer to join our offshore crew. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in diesel-electric propulsion systems, dynamic positioning (DP) vessels, and offshore operations. This role is critical to maintaining vessel safety, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:
Operate, maintain, and repair all onboard mechanical, electrical, and propulsion systems

Ensure compliance with USCG regulations, company policies, and industry standards

Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all machinery and equipment

Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance, and inventory

Respond promptly and effectively to equipment malfunctions and emergencies

Supervise and support unlicensed engine room personnel

Communicate clearly with the bridge and shoreside management regarding engineering issues

Participate in safety meetings, drills, and company training programs

Qualifications:
Valid USCG Engineer License (DDE Unlimited, 3rd Assistant Engineer, or higher preferred) with OICEW

Valid TWIC, MMC, STCW, and Medical Certificate

Strong knowledge of diesel-electric propulsion and DP systems

Experience working on offshore supply or specialty vessels

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Ability to work an even-time (28/28 or 21/21) rotational schedule

Strong communication and team leadership skills
