About the Role:

This role is responsible for managing day-to-day quality control activities to ensure product conformance, process capability, and compliance with customer and quality system requirements. The position oversees quality documentation, PPAPs, inspections, corrective actions, and the supervision and training of Quality Inspectors, while serving as a key liaison with suppliers and customers on quality issues. Success in this role requires strong technical quality expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to proactively drive problem resolution and continuous improvement across assigned products and processes.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Responsible for adhering to and maintaining all quality system procedures and requirements related to the position.
  • Must adhere to all safety rules and company policies, as well as enforce the compliance and implementation of each through subordinates.
  • Attendance/punctuality is consistently at work and on time; ensures that the Attendance Policy is enforced consistently through subordinates.
  • Maintain Quality Control documentation to include:
    • Inspection Plans
    • Product history
    • Control Plan
    • Process Flow Diagrams
    • Sample locations
    • Blueprints
    • Quality Alerts
    • PPAPs
    • NCMRs
    • Customer claims (Local management tool and customer portal(s))
  • Reviews and dispositions supplier PPAP submissions including generation of receiving inspection sampling plan as required. Approves Supplier 8Ds.
  • Defining and maintaining control plans and inspections plans as agreed with customer.
  • Administers training program including testing and gaging for hourly personnel.
  • Supervision and training of Quality Inspectors as required.
  • Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Kick off tool repair/improvement activities as required
  • Receive and coordinate the resolution of customer complaints, 8D completion on customer portal and internal problem-solving tool, based on customer timing
  • Devise sampling procedures and designs and develop forms, inspection plans and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality data.
  • Leads management of suspect / discrepant materials, including Quality alerts, NCMR management, MRB reviews, sort/rework instructions and internal claim management.
  • Manage PPAPs, submission and approval on time
  • Management of boundary, master and PPAP parts
  • Asure capability for their assigned parts and processes
  • Assure product conformance by validation of parts and approval of any process change.
  • Participates in audits as required, as auditee or auditor

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training in similar position in the Automotive sector; or equivalent combination of education and experience; GD&T knowledge, SPC knowledge, core tools

Computer Skills:

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite 365; Minitab; Ability to learn new software as needed.
