Some projects we shipped in 2024 & 2025, as examples of what our team (and past interns) have helped build:

  • A Puerto Rico Virtual Power Plant dashboard (https://www.tesla.com/puerto-rico) that aggregates realtime data from the Powerwall fleet on the island to tell the story of how Powerwall prevents the island from facing outages almost daily. Virtual Power Plants take distributed resources, like home batteries, and aggregate them to work as one large power plant to increase the sustainability of the grid and reduce grid costs
  • Storm Watch automatically charges Powerwall in case of inclement weather which is the leading cause of grid outages, and we recently give owners the ability to manually charge their batteries using udpates to Storm Watch.
