What is freelance tech support?

Freelance tech support refers to independent professionals who provide technical assistance and troubleshooting services to individuals or businesses on a contract or per-project basis, rather than as full-time employees. These freelancers help solve issues related to computers, software, networks, and other technology, often working remotely or on-site as needed. They may handle tasks such as installing software, removing viruses, setting up networks, or providing user training. Freelance tech support offers flexible solutions for clients who need expert help without hiring permanent staff.

What are freelance tech support jobs?

Freelance tech support jobs are any positions in which you provide help for computer software and hardware related issues. In this career, you are an independent contractor that handles customer service responsibilities for technology. You decide if you want to accept a contract or not and assist the client until you resolve the issue completely. Your duties include listening to a client's problem, answering questions, monitoring networks, managing system administration, updating software, replacing hardware, testing systems, installing both software and hardware, and resolving connectivity problems. Freelance IT jobs may require you to visit a location or solve issues over the phone. An information technology engineer is a common job title in this field.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a freelance tech support specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Freelance Tech Support specialist, you need solid troubleshooting skills, a comprehensive understanding of hardware and software systems, and often a background in IT or relevant certifications like CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator. Familiarity with remote support tools (such as TeamViewer or LogMeIn), ticketing systems, and diagnostic utilities is typically required. Strong communication, patience, and customer service skills help you explain technical issues clearly and build trust with clients. These abilities are crucial to efficiently resolving problems, maintaining client satisfaction, and sustaining a successful freelance business.

What are some common challenges freelance tech support professionals face when managing multiple clients?

Freelance tech support specialists often juggle several clients with varying technical needs and priorities, which can make time management and communication challenging. Each client may use different systems, software, and hardware, requiring you to quickly adapt and troubleshoot a wide range of issues. Additionally, balancing urgent requests while maintaining regular maintenance can be demanding, so setting clear expectations and boundaries is essential. Staying organized and using ticketing or project management tools can help you manage workloads efficiently and maintain high-quality service across all clients.

Content Marketing Manager (B2B)

Leadership Connect

Washington, DC • On-site, Remote

$95K - $105K/yr

Full-time

Posted 14 days ago

Job description

Who are we?
At Leadership Connect, we believe that relationships are everything in business and in life. Founded by two former CEOs of S&P 500 companies and a former presidential press secretary, our premier information service is built for developing relationships that impact decisions in government, business, and media. Utilizing deep research expertise and cutting-edge technology, we help our clients win business and influence policy across various specialties and verticals. We are a close-knit team dedicated to helping each of our users make a difference.

About the RoleLeadership Connect is seeking a results-driven Content Marketing Manager to own content strategy, planning, and execution — building the B2B content marketing calendar and personally producing the content on it. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, you decide what we publish, when, and why — translating brand voice and marketing goals into a coherent plan, then planning, producing, and publishing against it. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with no direct reports: you are the primary creator, drawing on shared and contract resources (design, demand generation, agencies, freelancers) for added capacity and accountable for the output either way.
Core Functions of the Role:
  • Define the content strategy: choose the themes, formats, and cadence to achieve business goals.

  • Own the B2B content marketing calendar end-to-end, including prioritization, production, and publishing schedule.

  • Create data-driven content — expert articles, white papers, case studies, webinars, newsletters, government and policy updates, landing pages, emails, and product content.

  • Monitor content performance metrics and adjust strategy and priorities based on results.

  • Represent and refine the Leadership Connect brand voice across social platforms, co-marketing, and media relationships.

  • Personally execute content production, and coordinate shared or contract support (graphics, campaigns, freelance writers) where added capacity is needed to hit deadlines.

  • Apply SEO and agentic search best practices and tooling (e.g., Search Console, Ahrefs, Semrush).

About You:
  • Background in govtech, policy, government affairs, or public sector communications is a strong plus — this role produces government and policy-focused content.

  • Proven success defining and owning a B2B content marketing strategy and calendar — and personally writing and producing the content against it as an individual contributor.

  • Comfortable managing competing deadlines and shifting priorities.

  • Skillful with marketing tools including HubSpot, Agentforce Marketing, and WordPress.

  • Track record of using performance data to refine content strategy.

  • Eager to incorporate AI tools into content workflows to support drafting, research, and editing efficiency.

To attract and engage high-level professionals, it is crucial to showcase our expertise, experience, and commitment to fostering valuable connections. We understand the importance of transparency when it comes to salary matters. Our research and analysis of the Washington DC market serve as the foundation for determining appropriate salary ranges. However, we also recognize that factors like location, experience, skills alignment, and other compensation considerations may influence these ranges. At Leadership Connect, we place a strong emphasis on open communication and adaptability to ensure fair and competitive compensation. We invite talented individuals to join our team and help us create a workforce that is motivated and empowered to achieve new levels of success.

What is it like to work here?
We foster an environment that encourages all our team members to excel by offering competitive compensation for top talent. We believe in creating a friendly and enjoyable workplace, with regular team-building events, happy hours, and more. Transparency is key within our company, and we hold weekly town halls led by our CEO to address questions regarding business plans, product direction, and company goals. In addition, we provide flexible PTO policies to ensure you can enjoy your time outside the office and focus on your personal life.

Everyone from full-stack developers to data scientists, former Hill staffers, and sales professionals help shape our in-depth people intelligence.

There is never a dull moment in our Washington, D.C. headquarters. People come from all over the world to join forces at Leadership Connect. We currently have teams working remotely and in-office and often get together for rooftop happy hours, exploring a brand new office, and meeting all the new hires on our growing team.

Want to join our amazing team?

Benefits/Rewards:
Awesome medical insurance plan
Dental Insurance
Life & Disability insurance
Flexible spending accounts
Unlimited PTO!
Eleven Paid Holidays
$3,000 Employee Referral Program
Employer contribution to 401(k) plan
Rewards and recognition programs

If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet 100% of the requirements, we still want to hear from you!  Leadership Connect is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce where unique experiences are valued and everyone has the opportunity to contribute. Research has continuously shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet all of the listed qualifications. We want to help overcome this trend and seek to make space for unique and relevant skills and attributes. So, when applying to Leadership Connect we focus on evaluation based on key competencies needed for success in the position. We look forward to receiving your application!

Leadership Connect is committed to creating a diverse environment and is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
