Job description

Sustainability Data Analyst
Conservice is seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Data Analyst to join our Sustainability Solutions team. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex and high-impact client portfolios, partner with team members on data-driven deliverables, and contribute to the evolution of our service offerings. The ideal candidate will have significant expertise in greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories and carbon emissions reporting, along with demonstrated experience in collecting, analyzing and quality checking real estate data for sustainability performance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct GHG inventories and similar analyses such as California SB 253 reporting and embodied carbon measurement.
  • Direct the data portion of client collaboration for multiple accounts.
  • Lead processes of collecting, analyzing and quality checking data for sustainability performance across multiple clients.
  • Manage the processes for onboarding client data to Conservice's sustainability data platform and enabling clients' effective use of the platform.
  • Provide regular progress updates on sustainability data collection, management and quality assessment.
  • Collaborate with customers to resolve data issues, including utility consumption data and property characteristics.
  • Present data analysis reports to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manages the process of replying to external data assurers on behalf of a mutual client.
  • Work across internal teams to ensure data collection and quality checking proceeds smoothly.
  • Develop effective actions and guidelines that enable process improvements.
  • Manage customer relationships to promote and create value through strong business acumen, problem-solving skills and partnership building.
  • Proactively communicate with clients to ensure they understand project status, undertake their role in data-related activities and ask any questions.
  • Partner with consultants to deliver contracted services, conduct project management and propose potential changes to scope.
  • Work with Conservice's internal leaders and teams to continuously improve company products and offerings to drive growth.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data analysis and quality checking, ideally handling sustainability data for real estate.
  • Significant experience leading GHG inventories and similar analyses such as California SB 253 reporting and embodied carbon measurement.
  • Experience preparing GRESB submissions and Asset Spreadsheets, using ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager (ESPM) and submitting for ENERGY STAR building certification, and submitting facilities for state/municipal benchmarking is preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead data projects and manage complex datasets with multiple stakeholders.
  • Skills in strategic thinking and identifying root causes to constructively solve problems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Sheets, experience analyzing sustainability performance data, and familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM platforms, SQL, Asana, and Google Suite is preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for diverse audiences.

Employment Type
  • Full-time, exempt (salaried) position.
  • This position can be 100% remote or hybrid (Logan, UT, or Chicago), depending on applicant preference.
  • Travel to internal trainings and client meetings as needed, likely 1-5 times per year.
