Job description

We are a global team of innovators and pioneers dedicated to shaping the future of observability. At New Relic, we build an intelligent platform that empowers companies to thrive in an AI-first world by giving them unparalleled insight into their complex systems. As we continue to expand our global footprint, we're looking for passionate people to join our mission. If you're ready to help the world's best companies optimize their digital applications, we invite you to explore a career with us!
The Opportunity
As the Creative Director, you will lead the visual and conceptual identity of New Relic across all brand touchpoints-from global enterprise marketing campaigns, digital experiences, and AI product launches to our signature corporate events and executive briefs.
You will manage and mentor a talented internal team of designers, copywriters, and multimedia creators, while partnering closely with Product Marketing, Growth Marketing, and Executive Leadership. Your mission is to push the boundaries of B2B tech branding, making the concept of "observability" as visually compelling as it is technically revolutionary.
What You'll Do
  • Shape the Brand Vision: Oversee, evolve, and enforce New Relic's global visual identity, voice, and brand guidelines across all digital, print, and experiential mediums.
  • Lead & Mentor: Manage a multi-disciplinary team of creatives, fostering a highly collaborative environment that encourages experimentation, technical curiosity, and excellence.
  • Shape Campaign Creative Strategy: Concept and mock up end-to-end creative directions that support multi-channel initiatives, including major product launches, global events, paid media, and digital experiences.
  • Collaborate as One Team: Partner cross-functionally with Product, Demand Gen, and corporate communications to translate deeply technical product capabilities into clear, high-conversion creative assets.
  • Executive Presence & Team Advocacy: Balance hands-on creative mentorship with high-level stakeholder management. Easily pivot from brainstorming in the weeds with designers to pitching creative vision to CXOs, while skillfully managing up and building consensus across a matrixed organization.
  • Balance Art, Analytics & AI: Blend creative intuition with data-driven insights and AI tools to optimize marketing performance. Use user metrics to iteratively improve creative assets, while proactively leveraging AI to scale enterprise production, automate workflows, and improve funnel velocity.
  • Manage External Partners: Source and direct external agencies, production houses, and freelance talent when scaling production for major initiatives.

We are looking for:
  • Experience: 12+ years of creative experience with 5+ years in a leadership or managerial role, ideally within a high-growth SaaS, developer-tooling, or deeply technical B2B enterprise company.
  • Portfolio Excellence: A diverse, world-class portfolio demonstrating a strong grasp of typography, digital and print design, corporate storytelling, video production, and integrated marketing campaigns.
  • The Challenger Mindset: An innate curiosity about developer culture, AI, and observability infrastructure, with the ability to turn complex tech concepts into accessible, engaging visuals.
  • Innovation within Enterprise Framework: Deliver highly creative solutions within the structural bounds of B2B marketing. We need a "blank page" creator who brings bold ideas to the table, but is also a low-ego collaborator who can quickly pivot, take constructive feedback, and scale high-volume production without letting creative pride get in the way.
  • Operational Savvy: Strong project management instincts, with experience structuring creative workflows using tools like Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Asana.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional presentation skills; able to pitch bold creative directions clearly to executive leadership and advocate for design excellence across the organization.
