We're partnering with a school district in Macomb County to hire a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for the 2026-2027 school year. This is an on-site, school-based contract role supporting an Intensive Preschool program.
The Speech-Language Pathologist will provide school-based services including assessment, therapy, and collaborative support to help students strengthen communication skills and access their education.
Position Details:

• Location: In-person (on-site), 40 hours/week
• Schedule: Full-time
• School Year: 2026/2027

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate students to identify speech/language and communication needs using appropriate assessments and screenings
• Develop, implement, and progress-monitor IEP goals and service plans aligned to student needs
• Provide individual and/or small-group therapy to support speech sound, language, and social-communication development
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary team members to support carryover in the classroom
• Maintain compliant documentation (evaluations, progress notes, session logs, IEP paperwork) in line with district/state requirements
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute recommendations/strategies to support student success

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Hold a valid Michigan Speech-Language Pathologist License issued by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA)
• Completion of a 1,260-hour (9-month) supervised postgraduate Clinical Fellowship (CF)
• Achieve a passing score on the Praxis Examination in Speech-Language Pathology
• New graduates may qualify for an Educational Limited Temporary License while completing their Clinical Fellowship requirements
• The Educational Limited Temporary License allows SLPs to work in Michigan schools during the fellowship period
