We are currently looking for Machine Operators and Printing Assistants/Support to join our team, experience is not required but always a bonus.

Responsibilities:
  • Operates a number of machines to help create labels and flexible packaging.
  • Continuously checks for print and seam quality.
  • Removes defective material and splices the roll web back together per the specification.
  • Utilizes a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing procedure (tools are used at other times as necessary).
  • Handles rolls and palletizes them accordingly as to not cause damage to them.
  • Must understand basic printing and seam related defects.
  • Attains and maintains all defined job objectives related to the planning and execution of all jobs and quick changes
  • Assists in the performance of all external make-ready operations in preparation for changeover activities (changing from one label job to another)
  • Assists in the performance of all external clean-up activities following changeover
  • Cleans ink pans and ancillary equipment
  • Strips plates from cylinders
  • Locates dies to and from press
  • May be required to work with press operator to view labels with assistance of strobe light
  • Comply with quality assurance specifications of the customer and MCC
  • May be required to complete quality assurance sheet and associated documentation
  • Responsible for working overtime when needed and as assigned
  • Related duties as assigned
  • Recording and entering data on designated paperwork as well as in the company operation system (Globetek).
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide to figure label counts and conversions. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to use simple windows based applications.
  • Must be able regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Print shop experience helpful, but not required
  • Ability to communicate and interact well with others (verbally and written form); seen as a team player
  • Ability to read and understand a job ticket
  • Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements (able to pass a ruler test)
  • Ability correctable to 20/20 (able to pass an eye test)
  • Ability to differentiate colors (able to pass a color test)
  • Ability to input data in the computer
