Your Impact in This Role You will partner directly with the Anti-Money Laundering & Sanctions teams to architect intelligent, real-time risk management products, heavily utilizing cutting-edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence. Your responsibilities extend beyond merely executing on a set roadmap; you will be a visionary strategist.

You will define and introduce modern technologies to solve critical problems, including those our stakeholders haven't yet envisioned. This is a hands‐on technical role. You are expected to dive deep into the codebase, write high‐quality production code, actively participate in complex system design reviews, and mentor engineers through practical, on‐the‐ground technical leadership.

Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree At least 7 years of experience in Software engineering and solution architecture At least 7 years of experience in Enterprise architecture and design patterns At least 5 years of experience in Cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) At least 5 years of experience in Data architecture including Event Driven and Real‐Time architectures Preferred Qualifications Bachelors' or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering and solution architecture 10+ years of professional experience coding in commonly used languages like Java, Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, Swift, etc.

8+ years of professional experience in the full lifecycle of system development, from conception through architecture, implementation, testing, deployment and production support Experience in applying Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning concepts to engineering challenges (e.g., anomaly detection, test optimization, intelligent testing) Deep practical knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, chaos engineering, and advanced Observability tooling (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Tracing) Experience in implementing Artificial Intelligence or Artificial Intelligence-enabled solutions Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position. Salaries for part‐time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. Remote (Regardless of Location): $244,700 - $279,200 for Distinguished Engineer Cambridge, MA: $269,100 - $307,200 for Distinguished Engineer McLean, VA: $269,100 - $307,200 for Distinguished Engineer New York, NY: $293,600 - $335,100 for Distinguished Engineer Richmond, VA: $244,700 - $279,200 for Distinguished Engineer Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
