Stern at Home Therapy is hiring Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) to provide one-on-one physical therapy treatments to patients in their homes in and around Toms River, NJ.

Whether you're looking for a steady part-time caseload with W-2 benefits or a full-time career with salary, W-2 per-visit, or 1099 contractor options, we offer multiple ways to build a role that fits your goals.

Full-time Physical Therapist Assistants working under our 1099 tiered compensation model have the potential to earn up to $105,300 annually, based on visit volume.

Treat one patient at a time, manage your availability, and provide individualized care without the double-booking, productivity quotas, and clinic burnout common in traditional outpatient settings.

What You'll Do:

As a Physical Therapist Assistant with Stern at Home Therapy, you will provide one-on-one physical therapy treatments to a primarily geriatric patient population in their homes throughout the Toms River area.

You will work under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists who provide remote clinical oversight and establish each patient's plan of care. PTAs do not perform evaluations in this role, allowing you to focus on providing treatments and helping patients progress toward their established goals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide one-on-one physical therapy treatments in patients' homes.
  • Carry out individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Work closely with remote supervising PTs regarding patient progress, changes in condition, and treatment recommendations.
  • Help patients improve mobility, strength, balance, safety, and overall function.
  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Communicate with patients, families, supervising PTs, and members of the clinical team.
  • Coordinate with our administrative team regarding scheduling, patient care, and logistics.
  • Manage your caseload based on your availability and employment structure.

Compensation:

We offer multiple compensation options based on your level of commitment and preferred employment structure.

Part-Time W-2:

  • $35-$50 per visit, based on the tiered compensation structure.

Full-Time W-2 Tiered Per-Visit Option:

  • $35-$50 per visit.
  • Earn more per visit as you move through the tiered compensation structure.

Full-Time 1099 Tiered Contractor Option:

  • $50-$60 per visit.
  • Earn more per visit as you move through the tiered compensation structure.
  • Earning potential of up to $105,300 annually, based on visit volume.

Full-Time Salary Option:

  • $58,000-$75,000 annually.

Benefits:

Eligible W-2 employees may receive:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • PTO and paid holidays.
  • 401(k) with employer match.
  • CEU support.
  • Student loan assistance.
  • Childcare assistance.
  • Wellness stipend.
  • Commuter stipend.
  • Mileage reimbursement.
  • Equipment provided.

Why Join Stern at Home Therapy?

  • Choose from part-time W-2, full-time salary, W-2 tiered per-visit, or 1099 tiered contractor opportunities.
  • Earn up to $105,300 annually under the full-time 1099 tiered compensation model, based on visit volume.
  • One-on-one patient care with no double-booking.
  • Work with remote supervising Physical Therapists who establish plans of care and provide clinical oversight.
  • Flexible scheduling and control over your availability.
  • No unnecessary micromanagement.
  • Dedicated administrative support for scheduling, coordination, and patient logistics.
  • Shadowing available for PTAs who are newer to home health.

Qualifications:

  • Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in New Jersey required.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Strong clinical, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a home-based setting while collaborating with remote supervising Physical Therapists.
